Selena
She broke down barriers within the world of music by performing, singing as well as a designer. The Mexican-American singer was she was also a traditional. She was the first to bring Tejano to mainstream culture. Similar to how most people grieve a celebrity who has died far too young, her death was untimely and shattered the progress of her career. Fans have been inspired over the years to dig in their heels even harder working to ensure that her achievements won't be lost in the dust. Her tragic murder by a gunman caused the outpouring of emotions within Latino communities, similar the way people reacted following the death of Elvis Presley and John Lennon's. Selena was a wildly popular singer among Latinos in North America. But her songs touched the hearts of both young and the old. Selena might have been described by some as the Latina Madonna, but she is still a great character model. Selena's values of family life offstage and involvement in AIDS awareness programs provide a great example.
