Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder named her for her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder relocated together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They was in a house that didn't have electricity. Ryder who was an avid reader aged 12 years old, became a reader because Ryder had no access to television. Ryder began taking acting classes when Ryder was 12, and was enrolled in classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986 she landed her first big-screen role in the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied throughout her high school years. Ryder hoped the acting profession would end this. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Still, she pursued her goal. In 1988, she got her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder had a successful role in several films. Two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
